From Refugee to Online Missionary
Volunteer Positions Available
Refugees from DR Congo are studying to become online missionaries. The Center for Online Evangelism (COE) and other donors are sponsoring 14 of these former refugees as they attend the Adventist University of Central Africa (AUCA) in Kigali, Rwanda.
After completing nearly a year of tutoring in English language skills, the students are now ready to start learning the digital marketing skills necessary to become effective online missionaries. When that course of study is complete, they will have the skills necessary to use the internet to spread the Gospel in Africa or get jobs on COE’s team of digital ministry specialists.
Our students are ready to start their digital marketing training, but we need several volunteers to help move this project into the next phase.
Student Coach & Liaison
This volunteer will manage and coach these students as they start this new course of study.
- Get acquainted with each student, and guide each one into the career choice that will best fit the student’s abilities. (COE will train you in how to help the students make these choices)
- Organize the students into working teams, and resolve challenges that may arise throughout the course of training.
- Talk to the students via videoconferencing on a regular schedule.
- Travel to Rwanda one to two times per year to meet the students in person.
Promote COE’s Rwanda Project
This volunteer will visit churches in the US to raise awareness of this project, and to solicit donations to cover the cost of training these refugee students.
